Commercial Lines Account Manager
Account Managers are the backbone of the agency and are responsible for working with Producers to service client accounts. The position requires supporting them in day-to-day account management and entails a great deal of verbal, electronic and other written communications. The Account Manager is responsible for managing the renewal and marketing process from start to finish, in conjunction with Producers and Renewal Quoter. In addition, Account Manager prepares materials for presentations and communications and assists team members with day-to-day client servicing. Account Manager takes an active role in speaking with clients. While in this role, this person should be maintaining relationships with clients and carrier contacts and working proactively to deliver services effectively and efficiently to clients.
Expectations: Collaborate with the service team and management for constant improvements to the department and agency. Be a team player and assist the commercial team to service accounts, win renewals and upsell other lines of business. Gain industry knowledge and continue developing yourself as a professional throughout your career. Always strive to be the best resource to your clients.
Functions include but are not limited to:
- Maintain a P&C Producer License
- Manage an assigned book of business.
- Work proactively to maintain relationships with carriers and clients.
Gather details related to endorsements and change requests.
Communicate with client on cancellations, non-renewals and other underwriting actions.
Review and answer questions related to Audits.
Discuss potential claims and advise on the best course of action.
Review daily download report.
Gather information and documents from customers to assist with renewal quoting.
Create and complete insurance applications for renewal quoting.
Create master certificates of insurance at renewal.
Submit quote requests to the Renewal Quoter and work with them for options.
Gather any necessary additional information during renewal quoting.
Contribute to cross-selling other lines of business.
Be an advisor to clients during the policy term and at renewal.
Collect downpayments when necessary.
Collect signed forms needed to bind accounts.
Use AMS systems to document activities and client communications.
Maintain a positive attitude and self-motivation.
Work well independently and with a team.
Review newly issued policies and endorsements for accuracy.
